Introduction

Sometimes you might want to quickly split a video file you have into several single files without the need to edit or reencode them. Using Video ReMaker you can do that quickly and easily. It will let you split a video file into several ones automatically. You can also cut the unnecessary scenes from these video files before saving them.

Step 1: Download and install Video ReMaker

Click here to download it. After the download is finished, run the VideoReMaker.exe file and follow the installation wizard instructions.

Step 2: Run Video ReMaker and load the original video

After you launch the program, you can select your video file using the Add File(s) button. In the opened Windows Explorer Window browse for the necessary folder containing video file and select it with the mouse:

When the video is loaded, you can manage it using the Delete File and Delete All Files buttons to remove the video from the program and Add File(s) button to add more video files to Video ReMaker. Note, that in case you add several different video files to the program all of them must have the same parameters – video resolution, aspect ratio, frame rate and bitrate.

Step 3: Find the unnecessary scenes using the Detect Scenes mode

You will need to delete the chunks between the scenes of your video so that you can split the video into parts. You will need to do the following:

1. Use the Detect Scenes mode to automatically detect scenes changes and find scenes;

2. Use the Preview Video mode to find the parts between the scenes and mark them for deletion.

First you need to switch into the scenes detection mode clicking the Detect Scenes button.

To start the scene search, click the Start Detection button. When the search is done you will see the list of found scenes within the Video ReMaker window:

Step 4: Mark the scenes for deletion

Click the Preview Video button and select the scene with the mouse. First select the beginning of the scene with the left mouse button and without releasing it drag it to the ending limit of the scene. You can move the boundaries after that with the mouse.

Use the Zoom buttons to change the scale of the movie on the Timeline. This is done to simplify the accurate search for the place where the scene begins and ends:

– use this button to scale up the video timeline representation, that is very useful when you would like to find the exact place in your movie

– use this button to scale down the video timeline representation, that can be useful when you search for the next place in your movie

– use this button to return to actual video representation in the Timeline, that can be useful to view all the changes you’ve made to your movie.

You can also set the precise boundaries of the selection you make. To do that click the Selection Range How to split video using Video ReMaker? Step 4 button of the Deletion Toolbar or the Selection Range… item in the Top Menu. The following window will be opened:

You can set the selection starting point (hours: minutes: seconds: thousandths of seconds) and the final point for the selection (hours: minutes: seconds: thousandths of seconds). If the View changes immediately option is marked, you will be able to see the changes in the Preview Area in real time when you make them. But it can slow down the process of the boundaries change especially when editing very long files. So it could be advisable to unmark this option, change the selection boundaries and click the respective Set button to see the changes of the selection starting or final point.

This way you can mark all the parts between the scenes of your video for deletion.

Step 5: Split video into several files

When all is ready, click the Remake now! button to open the Save File window:

Here you can select the output file Name, destination Path, video Format (if available). As you decide to save your video into separate files, you must make sure that the Save all sections into separate files option is selected.

And that’s it – you have just split your video into several files.
